The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. — Psalm 121:8 NIV

Just so ya’ll know, I’m from Texas and if you’ve ever visited any of the Southern United States, you have most likely heard someone say, “Bless your heart!” If it’s your first time in the South you might not know that this lovely saying has an evil twin.
Bless your heart can be an expression of compassion.
● You are speaking with someone who is going through a difficult illness and you truly want God to bless their heart and ask God to bring healing.
But when the evil twin speaks the blessing has a double meaning.
● Speaking to a close friend you mention a mutual acquaintance and say, “You know Susie really has put on some pounds, bless her heart.” It’s an unkind remark wrapped in pretty paper!
Let’s consider what the Bible says about blessings?
● God blesses us by dwelling in our hearts. Ephesians 3:17
● He blesses our comings and goings. Psalm 121:8
● God blesses us. Psalm 67:7
● He blesses and keeps us with graciousness and peace. Numbers 6:24
When we combine these verses, it’s easy to see God’s glorious bouquet of blessings heaped upon your heart. Our Creator loves you with a neverending love.
Points to Ponder
On this day how can you truly bless your loved ones?
● Reflect on your loved ones. What specific words could you share to communicate your love?
● How can you pray for your loved ones today?
● What are some words of encouragement you can sprinkle in their path this week.
